Be Happy… Always

The basic principle of the human heart is to always “be happy.” The human heart is the spiritual center of each human being. “Being happy” is the basic principle that carries the weight and structures around and above all the other necessary principles in order to conduct a peaceful and content life. “Being happy” is the complete joy that one experiences in being fully content with the true nature of his soul (atma or Self). 

Each principle comprises of a different combination of human values. For example within the principle to help all is the human values of compassion, selflessness, patience, and courage. In each of these human values is the basic feeling (or bhava) of pure unconditional love. It is this pure unconditional love that streams from the heart (or the spiritual center) of the human being and one translates this love into an act of love that becomes a human value. For example one feels a strong bond of love between him and his mother. This love then expresses itself and becomes respect. Within this respect for the mother is a stream of love that contains gratitude, faith, and loyalty.  The respect for the mother is the act of love and the gratitude, faith, and loyalty that is contained in the respect is the different proportions of human values. Both of these together form the principle of motherhood. Within this principle lie the respect of the child and the selfless giving of love of the mother.

The basic principle of being happy is the foundation and the solid ground for all principles to be laid around and layered above it. Self-discipline is when one remains rooted to this basic principle. The self-disciplined noble soul conducts his life from this very base principle and climbs slowly to the principles that remain structured around it. Little by little he stretches and reaches the treasures of goodness and Godliness that streams from his spiritual heart. Such a man in the world is called as “a man of exemplary character.” He inspires all who forget the basic principle of their center that is “to always be happy.” 

There is no human being who comes without the connection to his spiritual center. Even the one who appears “lost” is trying to connect his mind back to his spiritual center. He too abhors the complexity of his mind and wishes to return to the basic principle of simply being happy. The one who conducts himself aware of this principle always finds wisdom to deal with his life moment to moment. 

God has given to each one of us the insight to use the pure and unconditional love that He has placed in our spiritual hearts. When one gets attached to this truth of being happy he is able to use his intellect and through it express this love in his thought, word, and action. When one is content in this basic principle of being happy one is able to witness this entire universe in the light of this Divine love. Seeing the universe as God itself gives one a complete peace. It fills one with a wave of fulfillment. It carries one to the state of spiritual expansiveness. 

The pure unconditional love is a bond between the soul (atma) and the spiritual center (heart). This bond in each one is inexhaustible and indestructible.

However the trouble lies when one sees oneself always distant from his inner happiness. When one finds the need to attain and acquire happiness one loses temporarily the vision of this bond between pure love and being happy. One begins to desire happiness and wishes to give the least love necessary in order to receive peace. That itself is the pressure under which one loses his Self only to acquire his short-term ambition. Such a life ultimately leads to frustration. One is frustrated not because he has nothing but because he feels empty within his own Self.

One has to go back to fill this emptiness by going back to the basic principle of always being happy. Our beloved Lord Bhagwan Shri Sathya Sai Baba always reminded us to return to this basic principle… “Be happy… Be happy always… Be happy no matter what… Be happy for the sake of love… Be happy to be your Self…” 

Heaven lies in the heart of the good, the peaceful, the good-charactered, and in the one who is ever strong to be joyful…… See the heaven that is in your spiritual core… Bring to this world its Divine treasures… Be happy… Being simple is being happy by simply being the Self… The Self that you are and always will be!

God is the vision 

Of love, love, love,

God is the power 

Of faith that never ends,

God is the effort 

Of goodness and kindness,

God is the heart 

Of the pure,

God is the limbs 

Of the fearless, 

God is the joy 

Of the ever grateful soul,

God is the breath

Of the selfless warrior of values, 

And God is the life 

Of the beloved that gives his life 

To His mission of love...

Destiny is the time behind which the cowardly mind hides... God's will is the declaration of the soul itself. There is no difference between the effort of the fearless, devoted soul and the grace of God. Both are one. The work that carries pure intent accomplishes everything instantaneously. 

Karma is the bag that the doubtful mind carries with faith. That mind has more faith of the difficulties to come than the inner strength to arise. Misery can not touch you if you are touched by God's presence within you. If you are filled with God's will-power, nothing will come in your way. Success begins when you say "Yes" first to yourself... When you say "no," the whole cosmos echoes your negativity and takes you to your failure. 

Self confidence can never be received by an outside source. It is called self confidence for the simple reason that you are the master, the educator, the guide, the servant, and the sustainer of your will power. God's will is not a separate energy that has to reach you from a distance. The moment you undertake a pure task upon your hands, the purity of the task will create the divine love to accomplish it. That is the unity between God and the soul. Both are one. The mergence of both declares success, success, success...

Be happy always. Happiness is the power of God's presence within. It generates good thoughts. The waves of happiness gives one the focus to be patient. Do not beg anyone to give you anything. You are the master. The moment you offer yourself to the mission of the good, you will reach the finish line. You do not need another’s favors to uplift you. Lift yourself. Be free of wanting everything quickly without any pain. Pain is the instrument that sharpens the dull mind... the lazy mind... the selfish mind... Bear pain with equal mindedness and fortitude. You will emerge with a character of gold.

Don’t criticize and blame others when you fall. You fall because you weakened. You hold yourself with your choices. No one else can push you. Self confidence is born when you have the guts to be truthful to yourself. You have to not only know your weaknesses. That is not enough. Simply saying "I am this" and "that" does not make you pure. You have to erase the marks of the weakness upon your mind by creating thoughts of love and determination. You have to be determined not to follow the weak, selfish, and greedy thoughts. You have to replace those thoughts with the thoughts of giving patience, humility, and kindness. You have practice this not for one moment. Not for one day. Not for a few years. But endlessly. You cannot gloat about the efforts you make to others. If you do that you will weaken again... Be free of receiving praise from anyone. You should know your progress. Your path. Your resolve. Be silent. That silence is your strength and guide. 

You are filled and bathing in Gods energy. The moment you are aware of yourself to be filled with Him, you will rise above all difficulties. The weak mind weeps like the victim that has been oppressed by God. The silly notion that God punishes, God judges, God takes away, and God turns His back to His children makes one spend his life in the poverty of mistakes and failures. You are judging yourself... you are punishing yourself... you are hurting yourself... and you are denying yourself. Say yes to yourself and Gods glorious presence will shine in you, above you, below you, and around you. 

Spend each waking moment talking to God. Talk to Him while you work, eat, rest, and sleep. Plan everything with love being the main and only ingredient. Take all your worries and place them in to His hands. Say to God, "O Beloved One that fills this whole universe, I am not going to carry the thoughts that take you away from my sight. Why should I fear when Your love is guiding my breath? What past is there when I am Yours, and You are mine? As long as I am aware of You, all will be well. All is well. I am Your will... I have no fate. The power of Your love in me is everything. My life is Your mission. My breath is Your love. My effort is Your will. My faith is Your presence. Nothing can come in my way..."

A Peaceful Transition

Anger is a misunderstanding that one has with truth. Hence the one that is influenced by anger will support the grounds of his fear. If he is confronted with truth he experienced greater anxiety.... not because he abhors truth. He only fears that the truth may take away the present fears with which he conducts his day-to-day task. He is afraid of the immediate change that truth may bring. He wishes for time to change him slowly rather than him changing time immediately.... that very instant. He defends that he is used to his loss of peace... and that his loss of peace would be greater if he had nothing to fear from the very next instant.

            He is unable to surrender the reigns and see all as the will of the Divine. He does not understand that God gives him the circumstances not to understand his fears but to uproot them.

            If you wish to give yourself to God remember you have to start this instant. 

The instant your fears speak to you… return to the strength of truth.

 In one second a fear can grow that can drown you for years….. do not foster it.

Pray and speak to God all that you feel. Place it at His feet…. then walk away knowing that He will take care in His own way.

Fears are the ghosts of untruth. Do not try to analyze them. As you pay no attention to them they will subside.

 A failure is when one gets attached to the success or the fall of an experience. Experience one moment at a time and do not get attached to any of them.

If you worry about the future you will lose the present moment in which you can speak to God.

 If you are angry realize immediately that you have harbored too many fears within you.

It is better to face the situation with strength and courage rather than to sleep to the voice of fears.

Do not be angry at the one who is angry with you….. in his screams is a silent call for help….. be kind….. be patient….. and offer to him with love the ways of truth that will allow him to return to his own inner voice.

The more you support your fears the more anger will become a habit with you. 

 A disease in the body only results when one has not kept his mind close to the voice of the heart. 

 As long as you keep yourself constantly in truth you will be able to face with courage the changes of time.

 You have to steer your fears with your strength of devotion for God toward His will. 

 Your daily routine must incorporate time where you return to your spirit of love and your inspirations for truth. 

 Most forget to smile for they are too busy chasing their desires that may make them smile. Keep smiling while working, playing, and resting. Be thankful that you are aware of God’s will and are fearless to accept it.

Do not drag episodes of anger. The moment you recognize that you have lost your peace you must turn the resentment into an act of repentance and a picture of perfect love.

Realize that you are born not to face always perfect times and perfect circumstances. You are born to see the truth. Yes! The truth in the light of which all becomes divinely perfect!

Cupful Of Nectar

Cupful of Nectar

The ants always swarm wherever there is sweetness........... The bees guard the honey that they collect in their hives.......... Peace is the nectar of bhakti or devotion............. The bhakta or the spiritual aspirant after observing many years of spiritual discipline begins to slowly receive a glimpse of the nectar that flows from the pure love that he contains within and with which he adores His Sweet Lord.............. O how blissful is that sudden taste of peace that fills him in just remembering his creator and in walking
the path in which His beloved Lord walks hand in hand with him........ The bhakta is filled with the vision of His Lord............. The goodness of the Lord  fills his being and he himself strives day and night to be like His Beloved..............

No one understands his love for God............. other than himself................. He realizes the impermanence of all other relationships............ He wishes for them to turn toward the same friendship the he has found with God............ But like the bee he guards the nectar of truth that he has collected in his heart and does not allow his peace to be touched by any other............ Like the ant he swarms wherever the stories of truth are spoken............ and he slowly devours the taste of the truth that has come into his hand. Carrying cupfuls of this nectar he carries it to his loved ones........ begging them to taste what he has ingested and treasured................ Those that refuse in their ignorance he weeps for them and asks the Divine Lord to pour the nectar of truth into their mouths................ He rejoices for those that wish to taste and he prays to the beloved Lord for them to begin their journey............. that very instant!!

What is hardest for him is to be in love with God alone............ How can he contain the joy of that? He is overflowing with love and he wishes for not a drop of that love for God to go wasted............. He prays from his heart

Let the love that You have given to me

The Moment of Faith!

A person that is at peace will experience a surge of energy within him constantly....... Fatigue is a result of not from what one does........... It is a result of one’s resistance to one’s Self while conducting the task............ Place yourself in God’s strength........... Accept moment to moment His Will........... Remember of His love for you and that being the focus conduct your day to day work without laying before Him any conditions and challenges............... There is no moment that is a difficult moment

.............. You call it difficult only because you are unprepared for what is before you........... The mind has a tendency to decide and plan........... But that planning is only done by the mind from what it sees before it and from the memory of its past experiences................. However that planning can never be absolute and is always subject to change............. The moment you become dependent on the mind’s plan then God’s Will becomes a source of fear to you............... You feel your security lies in your knowing moment to moment.............. You wish that God would let you know all in advance and you call that faith........... FAITH IS REALIZING GOD’S STRENGTH.................. ACCEPTING GOD’S WILL........... You are the children of God............. Nothing is impossible for you to do............ Be rooted in truth, and the mind will be steadfast and focused............. Be patient and calm in conducting all your daily tasks.............. Return to your heart each time

you undergo the shivers of anxiety.............. Do not forget that in this entire journey what matters most, is the peace you experience from within your Self..................... Make sure you do not bargain that for any worldly profit............. Honesty,

sincerity ,selflessness, patience, respect and love should be the underlying principles behind all your relationships............... You may encounters the weaknesses of others but that does not mean that you too must surface and retaliate

Think before you do or say anything............. Remember if there is an error on your part things can only be corrected............ but it can never be erased.............. Do not be in haste to speak or to do without first letting it go through the channels of your

heart.......... Let your heart decide if what you wish to do is right or not.............. Let your heart decide if it contains love or not................. The duty of the mind is to think, but don't forget the duty of the heart is to align the mind toward the  law of love...

Do not feel helpless........... Let the light of goodness lead you moment to moment............ Let the past and the future rest.......... concentrate on the moment and exert all the faith you have in your Self for that moment............ Then victory will be yours always.............

The Divine Mirror

The Divine Mirror When the first morsel of food Was placed on your tongue… Your eyes were alit… You tasted and retasted What was on your tongue… You reached toward your mother And loved her for sustaining Your body And Making you whole… But have you tasted the love for God…? Once you have tasted the love for God You shall smile as if The world has brought you gold… You shall learn to laugh at things That seem to you as trouble… You shall cry in remembering The wasted moments Of doubt and tension… You shall guard the peace That you feel within Just like a queen bee That guards the honey In the hive… The norms of society Shall no more call Your name… You shall be happy To be with your heart And spend day and night In filling and refilling The reservoirs of love For your beloved Lord… You shall see The stormy skies And smile as it stares… You will walk Through the gusty winds And fear not What you may have to bear… And when the sun shines In the skies… You shall turn to its lights And know that in its brilliance Your sweet Lord smiles and hides… In times of disease… In times of death You shall stay with the Lord And pray… And from your love for Him You shall draw the verses of wisdom And repeat their truth Until time passes away… The taste of love For the Lord Himself Remains for lives to come… And each time your body awakens… To a new birth… You smile and remember The food of love… In which your soul awoke… And the sweet nectar of truth Poured from within And made each dark night A day of God to live… Do not worry Of how you shall foster This love for God In your life… Just remember The loneliness Before the days Before you fell in love With Him… And you shall yourself Turn away From the gloom Of piercing fears. The Play of Love

The Play of Love God is merciful and kind to all. When He sees His devoted children that cry and weep to be in His presence, He, Himself, takes the form of the body to come and live amongst His dear children. He plays the game of love with them… teases them by keeping them close for a moment and then afar the next. He teaches them to live with little, yet give to those that they can serve… Every moment, He cleanses their heart by living the life of purity and simplicity Himself… He scolds them until they are strong in their hearts. He convinces them to uplift their weak minds. When His children weep before Him as they fall… He laughs for He knows that His love shall break the fall. He gives to them His name as their protection and whenever they call Him…. He stands by them and places His angels right before their fears… He gives to them His Self… fully and completely. They, too, in this love divine, forget who they are… how time passed… what difficulties came their way…  what pain they bore… who came… who left… They just wake up to the smile of their Lord and they sleep to His name.  Then comes the time the Lord comes to them and His eyes say with silence, “The body that I have taken must return to nature. And even though I will always be with you, the game of love that we played together must end for now… Tell Me, O Child, what do you want?” The Child bows to the Love Supreme… The tears flows… the lips quiver… the hands fold and the body bends in reverence before the feet of the Lord… The Child says, “O Sweet Lord that dwells in my heart… my story I tell to you… even though You know all… You alone speak through the love that You placed within me. Hence, I shall answer with the word that You have spoken from within only so that a child that is lost can find You once again…. O Sweet One that makes me breathe… to You I answer. Even though I shall see You in the body no more, I shall live until my last moments with all the memories of the love that you filled me with. I shall take your teachings and bring them to life by living their truth myself… And in the moment You scolded me, I shall take from them the love that You had sowed and foster that love into the tree of values. And in the sacred moments You played within me, I shall recite their stories that the world shall hear and learn from them of Your love. Your love shall live in me, O Lord, and my heart shall say only Your name. You, O Lord, gave to me before I asked… before I knew what I really wanted… Then what can I ask now, O Lord? All I know is that You are there… and that whatever comes to me the next moment is Your gift of will that shall keep me safe… I shall speak to you, O Lord, from my heart to Your heart. I shall know, O Lord, that You are there for I shall feel the peace within as I speak to You. I shall know that You are there each time my heart will leap, as I say Your name. I shall know You are there each time I remember Your love and my eyes shall tear. I shall know that You are there when I shall follow the truth and feel strong. I shall know that You are there when I shall tell Your stories of our love together and laugh aloud… I shall know that You are there when one thanks me for taking them to You and Your love… I shall know that You are there for I shall feel Your embrace every time I think of You. Yes! O Lord that played the game of love with me, You left this body only when You knew fully that I was complete in you… And I, O Lord, ask you to always keep me in this play in which I lived…loved and played the game of love with You. A Moment's Play

A Moment’s Play

First fall in love with the sweetness… simpleness, and goodness of God. Then the transformation of the heart comes to you without the strain of effort. It is like climbing a tree that is laden with the sweetest fruits. As one climbs…he picks each divine fruit… tastes the nectar of its sweetness… ingests it… ingests it, and fills his self with its divine sweetness. And what does the one that is maddened in God’s love see at the top of this Divine tree… the Universal Mother (Sai) that sits at its top with the last fruit of Self-realization that is in Her Blessed Hand. Each time the devoted one feels a little tired climbing the tree he quickly casts a glance above. As soon as he sees the smile of the Divine Mother… as soon as he sees the pure love that radiates from Her gentle eyes… he forgets the pain….. the fear….. the fatigue and calculating the worth of his climb……. Yes! He regains the focus…… his heart palpitates fiercely with the love for Her…… he aches to reach that Blessed Hand to receive that blessed fruit. And he once again begins to dream to receive from Her Hand that final fruit that shall once and for all eliminate all distance between Her love for him and his awareness of that pure love.

With that dream that he places tightly in the fist of his hand he climbs step by step….. receiving at each step divine strength…… with that divine strength is born new wisdom. He holds on to the wisdom and it is the light if this wisdom that makes him see the journey to the next step….. the next divine fruit. Of course, he is only aware of the Universal Mother watching over him at all times….. he is aware of Her gaze upon him….. he is intoxicated by the love She continuously sends to him and in that the journey of love continues until at one blessed moment the final fruit that he longed for many a life…. is placed upon his hand and when he looks up at the Universal Mother he sees the glory of the highest truth in which God and he were always one in love…. Then he asks his Sweet Mother the final question of all…… “If it always was, is….. and will be You and me O Mother….. why this journey?” The mother smiled and as She spoke….. She said, “I separate you from Myself, O Child, only to see the play that I create….. I make Myself forget Myself for a moment and I taste the love I have for Myself and reach Myself to Me. You, O Child, lived your life only for a moment…. and in this moment…. you found love….. you climbed its tree…. you feared the fall…. you pined for Me….. you carried My strength…. you fought the distance….. you carried My love and offered it to Me…. and I gave you within this same moment Myself as your Self back to you…. all this happened in a moment, My dear child…. and now that you have in your hand the final fruit you shall know not yourself as you and Me as Me….. both shall merge and the moment shall end…… and once again I shall create you from Myself and we shall play once again for another moment….

No Place For Hatred

No Place for Hatred

Never harbor hatred toward anyone. One must be free and not be bound by wrapping his self in the cocoon of hatred. Even a speck of dislike toward anyone can make one mind undergo the torment of anger and in it, one puts his own contentment aside. The result is that one fights more to defend his hatred and gives his right to be peaceful a back seat.

What is the worth of disturbing your peace in order to give room to unnecessary dislike? Make a resolve not to dislike anyone from now on. You must say to yourself, “However much I face another's dislike I shall respond calmly with love.” This love must not be superficial. It must not be in order to make another feel small by establishing your superiority with the right attitude. No, such behavior comes only from the ego. The love must come from compassion. Compassion is the deep understanding that “All is God” and from that understanding one emanates with pure, sweet and unconditional love that is equal for all.

Do not get hurt easily. Do not worry of what one thinks of you. Do not be in haste to please all. You must firmly stand on your principles. Love must be the underlying principle of all principles. With that love you must deal with all misunderstandings. If the misunderstanding continues to remain then you must continue on your path without any resentment. You must wish well for all… It is not important for them to know and understand your thoughts. Time shall tell if you have remained exemplary in your efforts to reach God at all times.

Remember the name of God. Project His beautiful form…His smile into the face of even the one who infuriates you. Fill yourself with love alone… remember nothing else. Those that dislike you have temporarily forgotten the Divine Rule that, “All is God and God alone.” Be understanding toward them. As long as your love flows for them you shall be at peace.

Do not forgive someone for a moment and then remember what they did to you over and over again. Once the episode is over it must be out of your mind. You gave to them your understanding and forgiveness and now do you wish to have it back?! Forgiveness is not a superficial act of the mind and behavior. It is not done out of politeness alone… it is done to cleanse one’s own self from negativity. If one is in a negative state of mind and you accept that negativity you also become negativity.

Nothing is real… other than love… To hold on to another’s mistake is the biggest mistake of all. Always remember that God alone comes before you… as all… Treat them with the same reverence and their mind too shall receive the divine connection.

Always keep your heart spotless. Let the golden light of Compassion, mercy and forgiveness enter you from all corners (senses and mind) and emanate from your center (heart). God shall test you from time to time. Remember all the lessons of truth and be ready to pour it upon the Divine feet.

Derive strength from truth and in trying circumstances stand by the truth and do not fall easily. It is easy to speak of the Divine strength…but realize the time when you have to use it you must remain steadfast in wisdom and not get easily confused.

The key to the gates of heaven is love. Let not resentments… dislikes and petty differences come in the way between you and God’s Grace. The one who gives his Self a life of love shall bring the Divine treasures to his feet. Such a blessed and noble soul shall always be ready to give… help… forgive and accept all of God’s children.

Be prepared for your test… God shall always bless you for your victory. Place your hand in His and celebrate truth and welcome the wave of bliss that shall keep you silent in Divine love.

It is the dawn of victory. Victory of good thoughts over petty selfish thoughts. Victory of inner silence over the language of untruth and dislike. Victory of pure loving deeds over the deeds of impatient greed and insincerity. Yes. It is the day where you have prayed the nine nights with no thought other than the victory of the Self within over the senses mind intellect and ego. It is the day when the battle of the inner enemies end and the transformation begins. This is the day where you will take your first step to create peace wherever you are and wherever you go.

You have not left the battlefield. For you have won today the grace of peace. You have no enemy from today. None outside you can that you can criticize and hate. None inside that you shall defend and fear. You are free. You are free for you have made the resolve to be at peace to give peace and to uphold peace. The battlefield which is your own mind intellect and ego has become the holy ground of worship. The worship of truth. The bells of devotion . The lights of faith. The flowers of kindness. The altars of love. You will smile from today until you will rise to the last sunrise. You will from today follow the feet of virtues and reach the kingdom of bliss. Your battles have ended. You have left behind the life of fear. And you have announced your victory with the call of surrender to the Almighty God.

You are blessed just by the thought that you have chosen the path of being good always. No more do you have to fear of how difficult times may be. You have risen today. All obstacles have vanished in the prayers of the nights. What can fear do to you. You have already faced its tremors with your steadfast devotion. The fears today have themselves turned toward you to lead them to the victory that you have earned. No more do you have to please the mind. No more do you have to depend on others opinions of you. You are happy with the deeds of love. You are now standing on the grounds of character. You have welcomed all in your heart. You have freed your soul of all dependences .

The sun has risen. And you are no more helpless. The words of truth and wisdom are your soldiers for life. The voice of your soul is now your commander in chief. The medal of faith is upon your armor of patience. The flag of righteousness has been hoisted in your mind. The intellect of non attachment is ready with its arrow. The ego has accepted its defeat and has joined the army of repentance. And the soul is rejoicing in the glory of this beautiful dawn of transformation.

Take your step toward infinite peace. Adorn the attire of victory. No one can stop you now. For you have chosen your Self....

The one who has given to you

This life shall alone fulfill it…

To picture the whole truth…

The Divine love… the sweet nectar

For you to be at peace always…

Is only a moment of His game

He can turn the universe

Which Is Your Way?

Which Is Your Way? A man that is ruled by his intellect Questions the ways of God In order to understand His mysterious Grace… He finds one answer And finds peace in it… But alas… It lasts… Only for a moment For in the very next moment The answer no more holds Its weight… Then from his mind He draws the next fear That stands in line.... And from it turns another question..... And while the question Poses as a threat To his sanity He still rejoices For giving The complete understanding To his doubts And with that he stands with pride In the way Of his own peace… A man that is ruled by his heart Questions the ways of his mind In order to keep The misunderstanding at bay That may come in the way Between him and His love for God… He discards every question Of his intellect By making his fears Face his love for truth And if even for a moment He slips his way He runs to God And offers to Him The question of fear And cries before His Beloved Lord To receive from Him The peace That for a moment Had slipped And gone away… Both My dears Are the children of God… One has chosen To know His mother Before he can place Himself in Her heart….
